Code of Conduct

Effective Date: October 10th 2025
 

1. Respect & Sportsmanship

  • Treat all players, staff, and spectators with respect—on and off the field.

  • No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior will be tolerated.

  • Celebrate wins with humility and accept losses with grace.

2. Fair Play

  • Cheating, exploiting bugs, or using unauthorized software is strictly prohibited.

  • Match-fixing, sandbagging, or collusion between teams will result in disciplinary action.

  • All players must compete to the best of their ability in every match.

3. Communication

  • Use appropriate language in voice and text chat during matches and in league channels.

  • If tasked with setting up a lobby make sure to use appropriate language for the lobby name and password. 

  • Follow the league’s communication protocols for scheduling, reporting scores, and disputes.

4. Punctuality & Commitment

  • Teams must show up on time for scheduled matches. Repeated lateness may result in forfeits.  Read rules for more information. .

  • Players must commit to the full season.

  • Matches will not be rescheduled.

5. Streaming & Media

  • Players must follow guidelines for streaming matches, including overlays, logos, and sponsor visibility.

  • League staff may record or stream matches for promotional purposes.

  • Any public statements about the league must reflect its values and integrity.

  • We ask that you tag AEL when streaming our matches or using our matches for content.

6. Roster & Substitutions

  • Teams must submit rosters before the season begins. Changes must be approved by league staff.  Read rules for my info. 

  • Smurfing (using alternate accounts to gain unfair advantage) is strictly forbidden.

7. Dispute Resolution

  • All disputes must be submitted through the official league form or channel. 

    • This is located at the bottom of the Rules page for a given league.  ​

  • League admins will review evidence and make decisions impartially.

  • Dispute decisions are final unless new, compelling evidence is presented.

8. Disciplinary Actions

  • Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in: 

    • Warnings

    • Match forfeits

    • Temporary suspensions

    • Permanent bans from the league

 

9. Modifications to the Code of Conduct

  • We may update the Code of Conduct from time to time.  Any changes will be posted on this page, and the updates will take effect as of the "Effective Date" listed at this top of this page.  We encourage you to review the Code of Conduct periodically to stay informed about our policies. 

 

10. League Integrity

  • All participants are expected to uphold the spirit of competition and community.

  • The league reserves the right to modify rules or take action to preserve fairness and safety.

11. League Authority

  • The league reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters, including rules interpretation, disputes, and disciplinary actions.

  • League administrators have full discretion and authority to remove any participant from the league at any time, for any reason, with or without prior notice.
